Recycling Centers
Residential Use Only
Recycling centers are for residential use only.
Note that daylight savings time hours differ by one hour. During standard times, recycling sites close at 6 pm.
Public Works, Hemingway, Lane, Central, Earles, Cades, Bloomingvale, Greeleyville, Nesmith, Indiantown, Mouzon, Salters, St. Lawrence, Midway, Blakely, Bethesda, Morrisville, Cooper Brothers and Suttons Centers
Open Tuesdays and Thursdays
7 AM to 5PM
Open Saturdays
8 AM to 5 PM
Public Works, Hemingway, Earles, Cades, Bloomingvale, Greeleyville, Nesmith, Mouzon, St. Lawrence & Central Centers
Open Mondays
1 PM to 6 PM
*Mt. Vernon Site will be open on Wednesday & Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
These hours reflect the ending of Daylight Savings Time.
All centers are staffed with attendants and proper signs are placed with descriptions and instructions of where items should be placed. All centers collect:
- Aluminum and steel cans
- Batteries
- Bulk waste (furniture, mattresses)
- Cardboard
- Household garbage
- Newspaper
- Scrap metal
- Tires
- Used oil
- White goods (appliances)
- Yard trash
Additional Used Oil Collection
Additional sites for used oil collection are at Advance Auto located at 1655 N Longstreet and Santee Electric Co-op office on Sumter Highway in Kingstree.

Currently we have five centers that collect used oil filters:
- Greeleyville
- Hemingway
- Lane
- Public Works
- Salters
