Responsibilities & Services

Veterans’ Benefits

Assists former and present veterans, spouses and dependents in determining the procedures necessary to facilitate the receipt of veterans’ benefits, including those for:

  • Burial
  • Clients with the placement of veterans into a VA nursing home or other facility
  • Compensation
  • Disability
  • Education
  • Health care
  • Pension
  • VA home loans

Veterans who are homebound or in hospitals are visited and necessary papers or forms are completed for them at the location where they are located.

Records & Supplies

Assists clients with obtaining:

  • Hunting and fishing licenses
  • Military records
  • Prescribed medications
  • Replacement awards and medals

State benefits such as automobile tags and tax exemptions are other possible forms filed for the clients. 

DD-214s & Military Records

The Veterans Affairs Department assists with certifying and recording DD-214s and correcting military records.
