Farmers Markets

It’s a Matter of Taste!

Support Locals

Locally grown fruits and vegetables are more delicious and healthy than those that traveled many miles to reach us here in Williamsburg County and buying them helps to support the local farmers and producers!

To get locally grown fresh, healthy, tasty vegetables and fruits, visit one of the four local community-based Farmers Markets in Williamsburg County! You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, and some unusual personally made items like lye soap, jewelry, etc. as well as getting to meet and talk with the farmers at the markets.

Take Part

Ms. Rush and her staff are seeking farmers, producers and crafters to take part; there is no cost to participate.

Farmers Market Promotion Program

Williamsburg County was awarded a $99,959 grant from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP).

The goals of the FMPP grant is to increase domestic consumption of, and access to, locally and regionally produced agriculture products, and to develop new market opportunities for farm and ranch operations serving local markets by developing, improving, expanding, and providing outreach, training, and technical assistance to, or assisting in the development, improvement, and expansion of, domestic farmers markets, roadside stands, community-supported agriculture programs, Agritourism activities, and other direct producer-to-consumer market opportunities.

Grant Cycle

This is a two-year grant cycle that began October 1, 2015 and ends September 30, 2017. Plans are to continue the markets beyond the grant cycle. The office is located at the Williamsburg Enterprise Community Commission (WECC) at 2104 Thurgood Marshall Highway in Kingstree.
